McGregor_Family

Motorcycle racing in Northern Ireland is a real family sport. At any event you will be likely to find Grandparents, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, cousins and other family members. A day at the races usually entails alot of preparation from everyone.

A familiar face around the paddocks over the years has been Nancy McGregor (Ian's wife). Nancy has been involved in organisation of the sport, lap scoring at International and national road races and motocrosses. As a Wife, Mother and now a Grandmother of Racers, Nancy has been an integral part of the McGregor families racing exploits. Clean gear, picnics, lapscoring, child minding are all part of a day at the races for Granny Nancy. Through quiet encouragement Nancy is, and has, been a key factor in the success achieved by the McGregor family.

Ellie is only 3 but loves going to watch her big brother Aaron racing. A really cool kid. She has a Suzuki LT50 Quad. As yet Ellie has not tried 2 wheels. She is the only girl in the immediate family but is as brave as the boys!

Aaron's Mum, Diane, is not a bike fan and doesn't particularily enjoy racing. She allows the boys to go racing without too many complaints.

One of the non-biking McGregors, Brian's son Jonny still enjoys going to Youth Motocorss events. Jonny is a keen football player and attends the Dromara youth football scheme.

Brian Reid's oldest Son Mark is another non-racer. Mark is a true motorcycle racing fan. Born in 1990, Mark has a deep knowledge of two wheeled racing history. A very familiar face at the MRA Youth races, Mark lends a helping hand to his Brother Simon.

Over the years Alan's brother-in-law Geoffrey has been involved in racing motorcycles. A follower of Ian in the seventies, Geoff still wears an Ian McGregor replica helmet. In the 90s Geoff was Alan's mechanic. Travelling to circuits in Ireland, England and Scotland Geoff's support and efforts were invaluable. Geoff now mechanics for Liam Quinn on the National Road race scene.
