MRA Challenge, Tandragee

A good day for Meara Brothers and Team McGregor.

All three Mearas won their 3 races at Tandragee. It was a good day at the jump filled 'hard pack' course. John, Jason and Cailum won 3 races each making it 9 in total for the Meara brothers. This is a major achievement and puts them among such racing siblings as the Lavertys and McKeowns.

Aaron had a bad start to his day when he crashed heavily in practice. In race one he was cautious but found his form in the next two to finish 5th overall. Colin had three solid results finishing seventh overall. Again Colin rode very well throughout the day in only his 2nd week back.

Unfortunately Andrew Irwin was injured in the thrid 85SW class. Having won the first race, Andrew was injured at the start of race 3. We would like to wish him a fast recovery.

Simon still sidelined by injury

Following his crash in the season opening Ulster Championship, Simon has decided to wait until fully recovered before returning to racing. Persisting back pain is slowing Simon's return to action. We hope to see Simon back at the races soon and will keep you posted.

14 April Desertmartin MCCNI

Colin made his return to racing in good style. Showing that he has not lost his touch Colin was soon back to form finishing 6th and 7th. With track conditions almost perfect Aaron had a superb day finsihing 2nd in all races. As the track got rougher Aaron worked hard, leading race 2 for 3 laps.

Former Ulster Champion Colin McGregor comes out of retirement!

The end of the rugby season has given Colin a chance to attend some races to support Aaron. Colin has caught the MX bug again and has just got a new CRF150R sponsored by his Granda Ian. Colin will make his racing return at Desertmartin where he has been instructed to ride smart. McGregor racing is happy to have Colin back on the team.

7 April Seaforde MCCNI

Aaron had his first MCCNI outing of the season at Seaforde. He had 3 good races finishing 5,3,5 for the day. Crashes in races one and three cost him alot of time. A daring last corner pass in race three completed a good comeback from almost a lap down.

24 March 2007

Wins for Cailum and John at North Armagh Club meeting, Desertmartin.

Cailum won all three auto races in convincing style. Aaron had a good day also, finishing 4th and improving as the day went on. John won two of the three BW85 races. Jason had a good run in the 65s having fell while leading and finished on the podium. Jacob Dickson made good progress also.

17th March 2007

The opening round of the Ulster Champs at Ballykelly proved to be a real tough day for the McGregor racers. Persistent rain and very rough conditions made for a testing day. Simon suffered a major crash in race 3, having grabbed the holeshot. John suffered mechanical problems ending his day early in race 2. The smaller class riders Aaron, Jason and Cailum had more luck. The guys in the Autos finished well as did Jason in the Juniors.

Also..

Scott Hamilton suffered an early season injury while running well in the BW85, we'd like to wish him a speedy recovery.
